No one ever complains about “jugs,” and in most climbing gyms, there seems to be a shortage of them. Setters forget about the appeal of “buckets” especially to the young beginners or to the decrepit and brittle old folks that we all eventually turn in to. Everyone loves the feeling of sinking their fingers into a wrapper jug. Especially when the jug comes in an interesting shape that is visually more appealing than your run of the mill teardrop shaped honker.
This month, Project Holds added the Tanker 3XL to their growing line of shapes to please those jug lovers. Designed by Louie Anderson, the Tanker 3XL is a large double hueco, inspired by the West Texas bouldering mecca. To anyone who has climbed No One Gets Out of Here Alive, this eco-friendly urethane monster will seem like an old friend. The double hueco hold is useable in all directions and allows for some fun bicycle action in roofs. Even on more vertical terrain, the Tanker 3XL remained ergonomic, and like all of Project’s holds, it has an incredibly comfortable texture. Look for other sizes in the Tanker line on the Project Holds’ website. You can see the Tanker 3XL and Project’s fresh new line of holds @ www.projectholds.com
